This fall, we’re heading to the west coast for the 2016 edition of POV Digital Lab, a continuation of POV Hackathon. Our weekend incubator provides matchmaking and mentorship for participants to create digital storytelling projects, and the late deadline for Los Angeles (Oct. 15-16, 2016) and San Francisco (Oct. 29-30, 2016) is September 9, 2016 at 9 PM Pacific.

The labs have a 100% prototype production rate, and teams often continue to work together after the weekend ends. Teams have premiered their finished products at high-profile events such as the Tribeca Film Festival and the New York Film Festival, while other teams have attracted new funding from organizations such as The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

POV Digital Lab in Los Angeles will be held in partnership with CreatorUp!, an online education platform connecting and educating independent content creators with advice on how to tell their story and make great videos, web series, and YouTube shows; and The Impact Hub Los Angeles, a coworking space and community hub for socially conscious creatives, entrepreneurs, community leaders and organizations. In San Francisco, the lab will be held in partnership with KQED, public media for Northern California.

Have questions? Please send an email to lab[at]pov.org and thanks, as always, for your interest in POV.
