“The Emmy nomination announcement is always an exciting time for us,” said POV and America ReFramed executive producer Chris White. “It acknowledges the importance of public media. In the scope of a hectic, constant stream of information, longform documentarians continue to capture nuance and passion in stories that need to be heard.”
Justine Nagan, executive producer/executive director of POV/American Documentary, added, “POV and AmRef have presented documentaries that open a new world for Americans across the country. These films—taking us from the South Korean countryside to the Faroese fisheries to the Syrian battlefields—capture perspectives spanning the globe and the human experience. We thank all our filmmakers for their vital contributions, ideas and innovations and congratulate them all for this year’s nominations.”
