Part 2 of LSCA’s Film and Speaker Series thematically covers the immigration policy known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and the state of undocumented “dreamers” in the United States.

The event will feature SJCL Professor and Legal Director for the New American Legal Clinic (NALC), Gregory Olson, who will discuss the social, political, and legal ramifications of the current DACA crisis on the San Joaquin Valley and his work with NALC . Prof. Olson’s presentation will be followed by a screening of Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie).

Don’t Tell Anyone (No Le Digas a Nadie) Conversation Starters:

Marco, a DREAMer, says, “Food is the only connection I have to a place I haven’t seen in 15 years.” That’s nearly his entire life. What policy and/or social goals would be achieved by deporting him to the country where he was born? In your view, should DREAMers be treated differently under the law than other undocumented immigrants? Why or why not?
