Virtual reality technology is getting popular within the movie industry. If you are producing VR films or 360 videos, then you should seriously consider submitting your work to these international film festivals and get your name out there.

SXSW 2017
South by Southwest is an annual film, interactive media and music event that takes place in mid-March in Austin, Texas. The last date to apply is the end of October 2016. You can submit your Virtual Reality or Mixed Reality (VR/MR) films, games, and interactive projects here.

SUNDANCE 2017
Sundance Film Festival committee encourages to submit inventive, independently produced works of fiction, documentary, and interactive Virtual Reality projects. Projects must be viewable via Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, or Google Cardboard. Late submission date is August 31, 2016.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL
Tribeca exhibits experiential work throughout the festival to showcase new forms and uses of media including virtual and augmented reality. Last date of submission for this category is December 2, 2016.

ATLANTA FILM FESTIVAL
This year’s Atlanta Film Festival is open for groundbreaking works in virtual reality. You can submit your work here. The late deadline for submission is October 28, 2016.

WAMMFest
This year the International WAMMFest (Women And Minorities in Media Festival) is celebrating its 10th year. For the first time the committee will accept films under the category of Virtual Reality. Due date to submit your work is September 30, 2016.

SFVRIFF
San Francisco VRIFF is an international virtual reality film festival and expo, highlighting the best virtual reality filmmakers around the world. SVRIFF is accepting submissions until September 30, 2016.

CINEQUEST FILM & VR FESTIVAL
This vanguard film festival is organized in San Jose, Silicon Valley between February 28 and March 12, 2017. You can submit your work here.

SUNSET FILM FESTIVAL
Sunset Film Festival is organized in Los Angeles, California. The last date to submit your 360 video films is September 27, 2016.

SHIFT
Organized in Netherlands, Shift an annual film festival that is open for filmmakers who are open to experiment with new techniques and formats. Late application deadline is October 1, 2016.

NEW YORK SCIENCE FICTION AND SUPERNATURAL FILM FESTIVAL
Inaugural film festival for science fiction and supernatural films that embody good story telling, excellent effects and entertaining narratives. The extended deadline of the festival is September 20, 2016.

360 FILM FESTIVAL
Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and 360° content focused film festival, organized in Paris. The regular deadline ends in August 31, 2016. If you are thinking to submit your work, better hurry!

DUBAI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
“DIFF” is a leading film festival in the Arab world. Since its inception in 2004, the festival has served as an influential platform for Arab filmmakers and talent at an international level. Film submissions for the 13th edition of DIFF, running from December 7–14, 2016, can be done here.

KALEIDOSCOPE VR
Kaleidoscope is not only a film festival but a community for Virtual Reality creators to share their work, build a fanbase, secure funding and discover new new collaborators. There is no deadline for submissions. Kaleidoscope accepts projects on a rolling basis.
