Light from Earth 1992-2010
Using composite images from 1992-2010, this interactive map from the Kitamoto Laboratory at the National Institute of Informatics shows the world at night as seen from multiple satellites. The maps show the rapid growth of electric light at night over the past 20 years.
Rate Your Sky
Students and citizen scientists contributed pollution reports to create this interactive map at Globe at Night. Although the 2012 campaigns are completed, check out globeatnight.org to learn how you can report on your own night sky in 2013!
