We invite you to share your stories about military service and war. Please send us your stories, photographs, poetry, essays and letters by leaving a comment on one of the questions below. Although we eventually plan to allow community members to upload images and video, at the moment we don’t have that capacity, so we encourage you to post photos to Flickr and videos to YouTube and then to share those links with us in your entries.
You may also submit your stories to us by e-mail at regardingwar[at]pov.org. Please use your name and hometown when submitting your story, and if relevant please share which branch of the military you were in and which conflict you are writing about. If you are submitting a photo, images must be JPEGs (.jpg), not digitally altered, and no larger than 5MB.
