Film Update

In September 2017, POV asked My Love, Don't Cross That River producer Han Kyung-soo what's happened since the cameras stopped rolling.

What is Kang Gye-yeol up to these days?
Right after his death, of course, Kang had a very hard time. However, she was able to recover since she has no doubt about reuniting with him in her after-life. She is now living with her daughter in the city and doing pretty well.

The initial reaction in South Korea was enormous -- it is highest grossing documentary and indie film in the country. Why do you think it was so successful there?
Nobody knows. I still can't believe that ten percent of the South Korean population watched my film.

What do you hope American audiences will take away from the film?
I even don't know what Korean audiences took away from the film 😊 . I imagine each audience member would have a different impression, whether as a son or daughter, as parents or grandparents, young and old, or as lovers.

What are you working on now?
I've worked on my new film for four years, and it will be screened for the first time at the DMZ International Documentary Festival. Here is the link: http://dmzdocs.com/en/opening-film
