Filmmaker Bios

Tina DiFeiciantonio and Jane C. WagnerJane C. Wagner and Tina DiFeliciantonio met as graduate students at Stanford University. They have been partners in Naked Eye Productions since 1988. DiFeliciantonio and Wagner spent five years completing Girls Like Us, which has been awarded the 1997 Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. During the making of the film, they used DiFeliciantonio's mother's South Philadelphia basement as their production office. In addition to directing, DiFeliciantonio was the cinematographer and Wagner was the sound recordist and editor. These two award-winning documentarians have garnered individual as well as collective recognition. DiFeliciantonio produced and directed Living with Aids, which was distributed internationally and won POV its first Emmy Award in 1988. Wagner, received the Special Recognition Award in short filmmaking at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival for Tom's Flesh. Working as collaborators, DiFeliciantonio and Wagner have won among other awards a Silver Spire Award at the 1997 San Francisco International Film Festival and a Grand Jury Prize at the 1997 Aspen Film Festival for Two Or Three Things But Nothing For Sure -- about author Dorothy Allison. DiFeliciantonio and Wagner's other credits include: Twinsburg, Ohio, Culture Wars, Una Donna, Legacies: Tales From America. Currently, the two partners are busily working as editor and co-producer on the HBO documentary special entitled Reno Finds Her Mom, which is executive produced by Lily Tomlin.
