CME Credits for Medical Professionals

General Information

The Genius of Marian is POV's first film to receive CME accreditation. We're thrilled that medical professionals will have the opportunity to receive CME credits by experiencing this visually rich, emotionally complex story about one family's struggle to come to terms with Alzheimer's disease.

Objectives

Four identifiable learning objectives associated with this CME activity are for health professionals to be able to:

  • Be aware of how stigma associated with Alzheimer's disease may affect the diagnosed person and the family.
  • Be aware of complexities caregivers face when confronting challenging behaviors and the toll of 24/7 care-giving.
  • Identify outlets for creativity and expression can be helpful for an individual facing a diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
  • Identify resources that support an Alzheimer's Caregiver's ability to manage care day to day while maintaining their own health and well-being.

 

Instructions for Registration and Viewing of PBS-aired Movie to Receive Continuing Education Credit/Certificate

  1. Register and answer Pre-Test Questions
  2. Complete Registration and pay $30.00 Certificate Fee
  3. Please email The Genius of Marian team, at info[at]geniusofmarian.com to receive the online link to view The Genius of Marian.
  4. Five to seven (5-7) days after registration, you will be sent an email from Saint Louis University CME Office (cme@slu.edu--please adjust settings to accept this email address or check your spam email folder), notifying you to log back into the registration portal (link will be provided in email, including log-in information) to complete Post-Test and Change of Practice Evaluation Questions. After answering questions, you will be able to download/print your certificate.

 

Credit Information

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Saint Louis University School of Medicine and WeOwn TV. Saint Louis University School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Saint Louis University designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
