The series sets itself apart by working diligently beyond the broadcast to engage communities by creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue and activity around POV documentaries. Extending the reach of POV’s films, the award-winning website, www.pbs.org/pov, offers filmmaker interviews, educational resources, story updates, podcasts, streaming video, blogs, viewer feedback and more.

Amid the proliferation of cable channels and reality programming, POV has remained the national broadcast venue for independent, social-issue “real-life” documentaries that find limited support in commercial media.
