The Planetary Society is hosting a free screening of Bill Nye: Science Guy as part of their Global Astronomy Day event for the Planetary Society and Astronomers Without Borders. This event aims to teach the importance of astronomy and how the Planetary Society is involved and Bill Nye’s involvement as the CEO. There will be a night sky telescope viewing on the Picnic Islands in Coconut Grove Miami, Florida and a short lesson on astronomical viewing. J. Keith Sowell, MSSS/PS, the Planetary Society East Florida Outreach Coordinator and Planetary Astronomer will be speaking at the event, as well.

To be accepted, new ideas must survive the most rigorous standards of evidence and scrutiny.” What counts as valid evidence in science? What differentiates scientific proof from other types of evidence?
