American Revolutionary Conversation Starter: Boggs tells the story of how she initially came into contact with the black community at a meeting of people protesting rat-infested housing, including her own living quarters. Prior to that, she was “aware that people were suffering, but it was more a statistical thing.” Contact humanized the issues for her. With whom do you share common cause and what can you do or have you done to make that human connection?
