POV Hackathon, POV’s weekend lab for “reinventing the documentary” is coming to Chicago for the first time!

If you are a nonfiction filmmaker, a web developer, a multimedia journalist, a digital artist, or just interested in the intersection of storytelling and technology, you can propose an idea now, or just let us know that you’d love to join a team.

The submission deadline is Friday, July 10 at midnight CT. POV Hackathon 9 will take place in Chicago the weekend of August 15-16, 2015, in partnership with Kartemquin Films, a collaborative center for documentary media makers who seek to foster a more engaged and empowered society, and The Chicago Innovation Exchange, the University of Chicago’s new center to help scholars and entrepreneurs translate their ideas and new technologies into start-up businesses and products.
