See the Film, See the Star: Searching for Sugar Man and Rodriguez

See the film, then see the star – in concert! Oscar-winning film Searching for Sugar Man screens for free on Wednesday, April 30th at Millburn Free Public Library in Millburn, New Jersey at 7pm. Searching for Sugar Man follows the career resurgence of Rodriguez, a Mexican-American folk musician and self-taught guitarist whose counterculture lyrics in the 1960s and 70s earned him a following of fans among South African anti-apartheid activists. When fans sought him out in the late 90s, Rodriguez was completely unaware of his popularity over seas.

Rodriguez, who director Malik Bendjelloul calls “one of the greatest singers ever,” brings his music to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on May 8th.

To register or reserve tickets for these events visit Millburn Free Public Library and New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
