PBS Indies Shorts – Now Streaming at POV

PBS Indies Shorts will include three POV films in March 2014.

Join PBS in celebrating independent films with a collection of 26 shorts from POV and Independent Television Service (ITVS). PBS Indies Shorts starts today and will showcase artists pushing the aesthetic and technological boundaries of the non-fiction form. At POV, you can watch the Big Sky Film Festival Mini Doc winner Mr. Smith’s Peach Seeds (by POV Alum Steward Copeland), the Oscar-shortlisted Paraíso (by Nadav Kurtz), and the Los Angeles Film Festival’s Best Short Documentary winner Wood (by David Fenster).

Every week during March, PBS will be highlighting one film from POV and one from Independent Lens.

Paraíso

Every day three immigrant window cleaners risk their lives rappelling down some of Chicago’s tallest skyscrapers. Paraíso reveals the danger of their job and what they see on the way down.

Mr. Smith’s Peach Seeds

In 1968 Roger Smith ate a peach during a break from work and carved the pit into a pig.

Wood

Follow the journey of timber from the forest through the sawmill and the working men who guide it along the way.
