I was surprised that many people in our community were not aware of the triumphs of a program very similar to ours. This would be either a pre/post event to support our “Lights On After-School” carnival which advocates for After-school funding/outcomes. Besides sharing a local story this exemplifies the importance of youth development, this will also be a informational meeting for parents who are interested in planning a large children’s march for issues that youth face in the NYC. Our Chess specialist will also be running demonstrations and games for families. And if possible we’d like to invite our community partners.”
