Video en línea de Reportero extendido a México: 1 al 6 de febrero del 2013 »
POV is pleased to announce that, from February 1 to 6, 2013, viewers in Mexico will be able to watch the documentary Reportero for free online.
Reportero, which had its U.S. broadcast premiere as part of POV’s 25th anniversary season on PBS in January 2013, follows a veteran reporter and his colleagues at Zeta, a Tijuana-based independent newsweekly, as they stubbornly ply their trade in one of the deadliest places in the world for members of the media. In Mexico, more than 50 journalists have been slain or have vanished since December 2006, when President Felipe Calderón came to power and launched a government offensive against the country’s powerful drug cartels and organized crime. As the drug war intensifies and the risks to journalists become greater, will the free press be silenced?
Viewers in Mexico will be able to watch the film at http://www.pbs.org/pov/reportero/full.php starting February 1, 2013. The film is already streaming online at the same link for American viewers. Find out more about Reportero at pbs.org/pov/reportero or reporteroproject.com.
Beginning its 26th season on PBS in 2013, POV is American television’s longest-running independent documentary series. POV airs on Monday nights from June to September, with primetime specials during the year. The series is the winner of a Special Emmy for Excellence in Television Documentary Filmmaking and two International Documentary Association Awards for Continuing Series.
