AFI DOCS Announces Its Full Lineup
AFI DOCS, one of our top tier doc festivals, has announced the slate of films for AFI DOCS 2016. AFI will take place in Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, MD from June 22–26. The 14th edition showcases 94 films representing 30 countries. Spotlights include Zero Days, Audrie & Daisy and Newtown. Hooligan Sparrow, which will air on POV on 10/17, is a part of this year’s Feature Film Selections. The full schedule as well as online tickets will be available on May 18.

Amazon takes on YouTube with launch of Amazon Video Direct
In a surprise announcement this morning, Amazon unveiled its own plans to compete in the user-generated video market with the launch of a new service called Amazon Video Direct. This service, explains the company, allows creators to upload their own videos to Amazon’s Prime Video and generate royalties based on the hours streamed.
