Bradley Crowder and David McKay in Better This World

We are excited to announce that Better This World (POV, 2011) will be presented at DocuWeeks 2011, beginning next week in New York! Sponsored by the International Documentary Association, DocuWeeks gives highly-acclaimed documentaries the theatrical run they need to qualify for Academy Award consideration. Better This World tells the story of Bradley Crowder and David McKay, who were accused of intending to firebomb the 2008 Republican National Convention.

If you’re in the New York City area this weekend, you can also check out a screening of the The Learning (POV, 2011) at the Asian American International Film Festival. The documentary follows four Filipina women who reluctantly leave their families and schools to teach in Baltimore. With their increased salaries, they hope to transform their families’ lives back in their impoverished country. But the women also bring idealistic visions of the teacher’s craft and of life in America, which soon collide with Baltimore’s tough realities.
