'Mr. Chocolate' Jacques Torres Joins 'Kings of Pastry' Screening Tonight at the Brooklyn Museum

“Mr. Chocolate” Jacques Torres will be a special guest
at the Brooklyn Museum screening of Kings of Pastry.

Jacques Torres (“Mr. Chocolate”), who New York Magazine called the city’s own Willy Wonka, will join POV and documentary luminaries D A Pennebaker & Chris Hegedus at the Brooklyn Museum for a sneak preview screening of the critically acclaimed documentary Kings of Pastry.

Pennebaker and Hegedus received unprecedented access to the competition for the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (MOF) awards, the country’s Nobel Prize for pastry. 16 chefs, including Jacquy Pfeiffer, co-founder of Chicago’s French Pastry School, whip up the most gorgeous, delectable, gravity-defying concoctions and edge-of-your-seat drama as they deliver their spun-sugar desserts to the display table.
Nancy Banks-Smith from The Guardian says, “I never saw so many strong men sobbing at once.”
