POV's Project VoiceScape Submissions Now Under Review

Project VoiceScape is a partnership with Adobe Youth Voices, PBS and POV to mentor today’s best young documentary filmmakers.

Our 2011 Project VoiceScape call for entries closed last week and we would like to thank the hundreds of talented youth filmmakers across the country who submitted their great documentary ideas for funding consideration! We received applications from students in nearly 30 states, with proposed topics ranging from gay rights in Minneapolis to “gutterpunks” in New Orleans, and from sexual exploitation in Oakland, to Arkansas’ fastest growing Hispanic communities. We’ll be spending the next few weeks reviewing the entries and will notify all young filmmakers with our selection decision by the end of March. For those of you who have submitted your work, please sign up for our newsletter to get updates on Project VoiceScape in the coming weeks. We’re thrilled to introduce the grantees to their POV filmmaker mentors and to get this project started!
